Oval or Rectangular Shaped Pools?
We emphasize Oval Pools over Rectangles because of their structural superiority. An arch or radius circle is structurally stronger than a straight wall. Any engineer will attest to this fact. That is why there are arched bridges, domes and large free-span buildings, i.e. Niagara Falls Convention Center, Astrodome, Skydome, Superdome, etc.
A rectangle has 2 long and 2 short straight walls, an Oblong has 2 short straight walls. An Oblong Pool stays cleaner because there are no corners and the water moves in a circular pattern when the inlets are adjusted properly.
Most of all liner problems occur in the corners of rectangle Pools. Ovals have no corners, so are not plagued with this problem.
v
Oval liners fit perfectly and 99% of all our pools are wrinkle free. Oval Pools are much more fashionable and pleasing to the eye, and accent any yard or setting.
Our competition will try to justify their Rectangle Pool by saying that in an Oval Pool you will lose swim area by the lack of corners. This loss is minute and does not justify the disadvantages. For example, a 16 x 32 Rectangle with 4 ft. radius corners has 486 sq. ft. - our 17 x 32 Oval has 486 sq. ft. Our 17 x 35 Oval has 537 sq. ft. - 53 sq. ft. MORE than the Rectangle. An Oval Pool has approximately the same square footage as an Emerald or elongated Octagon of the same dimensions, but again it is structurally superior.
